Crossway Cares

Crossway Cares is a local outreach initiative dedicated to meeting the practical needs of individuals and families in our community. Rooted in compassion and service, our mission is to reflect the love of Christ by offering support, resources, and hope to those facing difficult circumstances. Through hands-on help and generous giving, we strive to make a lasting impact in the lives of those we serve.
Food Pantry
One of the primary ways Crossway Cares reaches out is through our food pantry. We provide free, nutritious groceries to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. Whether someone is facing temporary hardship or long-term challenges, our pantry offers both immediate relief and a welcoming environment that reminds people they are not alone.
The Food Pantry is open on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Life Center building.
Donate non-perishable food items. Bring your donation to the Food Pantry between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Wednesdays or to the donation bins in the Missions Lobby on Sunday mornings.
Clothing Donations
In addition to food assistance, Crossway Cares also supports the community through clothing donations. We collect and distribute gently used clothing for all ages, ensuring people have dignity and access to basic necessities. This ministry allows us to meet practical needs while sharing God’s love in a tangible and meaningful way.

Benevolence
Crossway Cares provides benevolence support to individuals and families facing financial hardship. We reflect Christ's love and care through prayer, practical assistance, and resources like food, clothing, and emergency aid. This ministry exists to meet needs, offer hope, and walk alongside those experiencing difficult seasons in life.
We receive financial donations to the benevolence fund on the fourth Sunday of the month following a communion worship gathering.

Foster Care Support
Crossway Cares for foster care children and their families. This ministry exists to serve and care for vulnerable children and families in our community, in obedience to God’s call in James 1:27 and Deuteronomy 24. We aim to reflect Christ’s love by supporting those who open their homes to the orphaned and fatherless.
Through Crossway neighborhood groups and in partnership with the City of Virginia Beach, we provide foster families with a hot meal on the first night a new child is placed in their care. This simple gesture offers comfort, support, and a reminder that they are not alone as they welcome a child into their home.
